SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed a new record for daily confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday. 6,943 new cases were confirmed throughout the state, along with 36 additional deaths. This is also the fourth time this week that Illinois has seen daily confirmed coronavirus cases over 6,000. Overall, the Illinois Department of Public Health has confirmed 402,401 and 9,711 deaths.
