The July 27th meeting of the Bureau County Genealogical Society will feature the popular speaker Michael J. Neill. Neill is one of our country’s most advanced genealogists who lectures nationally on a wide variety of genealogical topics. In addition, he conducts research field trips to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His website at rootdig.genealogytipoftheday.com is a treasure trove of research news and advice. Princeton will be “From Their Mouth to Your Computer Screen.” He will guide the audience through a tangle of steps that may have affected how information on your records, court records, condition of records when microfilmed, transcription errors, and data base entry errors are some of the topics the audience can expect to learn about. Neill will have tips for better understanding failed search attempts and offer advice for new attempts. The public is encouraged to come out for this free program by an expert genealogist who is an entertaining speaker. For further information call 815.879.3133 or visit the BCGS library between the hours of 10 – 3 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
