Two Livingston County teens die in sledding incident in Colorado

FAIRBURY – Two teens from Livingston County are dead after a sledding incident in Colorado. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office say around 8:30 PM the teens were on the same sled that launched off a large snowbank and came down on an area of hard ice, causing significant injury. Despite immediate medical attention from emergency services, the males, aged 17 and 18, could not be revived and were pronounced deceased on the scene. Officials with Prairie Central School in Fairbury issued a statement that counselors will be made available for students. The identity of the teens has yet to be released and the incident remains under investigation by Colorado authorities.
